I know I’m not the only one using the Linux operating system, more people are moving away from Microsoft every day to use the free alternative instead.
Since it’s a bit tricky to install Windows applications on Linux I will highlight important information you will need to know if you want to run PokerStars, FullTilt, UltimateBet or Bodog through wine on your Linux installation.
The biggest part of the work is covered in this great tutorial
that covers most of steps required to install all the previous poker softwares, however you might experience some problems I had to solve to make this hacking job done and the programs running without any problem.
UltimateBet and MSVCP60.dll
error: err:module:attach_process_dlls “MSVCR80.dll” failed to initialize, aborting
solution:
wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
sh winetricks corefonts vcrun6
If anyone shows interest in my personal poker playing configuration on Linux you can always shout in the comment box below and it’ll make sure to write something about how to play different sites and multiple tables at the same time while remaining efficient.
Cheers!
